Section 5. Questions about booking, paying, keys, arrival and departure etc for this Budapest apartment for a holiday rental.

How would I go ahead and book the apartment for a holiday rental ?

You send an enquiry by e-mail or phone. If you agree the price and want to book then I send you the reservation form, you complete it with information like arrival and departure dates, telephone number etc and you send it back by e-mail. A request for an advance payment will then normally be sent to you, such as by Paypal, to confirm the reservation. Or perhaps by bank transfer. The amount of the advance payment depends on the data of your reservation and the dates of your stay at the apartment.

(the right is reserved to ask to see that you have travel tickets, so that it is clear that the trip is definite and is not just a possible trip).

Final payments are made at arrival at the apartment, in cash (after you have inspected the apartment). The rental money needs to be in Euros or Hungarian Forints. So, to receive the keys you need to have paid the total of the rent money and also the 'during rental' deposit money.

The damage deposit, for people flying in and out, is 150 Euros in cash (or 100 Euros if provide a work e-mail address, not self-employed)(if you prefer to pay deposit in other currency please advise in advance), against breakages etc which is repaid on the last day of your stay after checking the apartment and returning the keys.

For people not arriving by plane, or for student/young/large groups etc the deposit may be higher, please ask.
If an advance payment is needed then this can be done in various ways such as Paypal, bank transfer (UK bank account), Moneygram or perhaps by posting a personal cheque (eg. for groups from UK, France). (for UK residents it may be possible that a cheque is used as a deposit but not cashed unless you cancel ; and you pay cash at arrival and cheque is cancelled or destroyed and returned by post)

What is the minimum number of nights ?

There is no minimum. Depends on how your dates fit in. If you send in an enquiry I'll let you know.

What liability do you accept ?

If the apartment becomes unavailable before arrival of a group due to a reason such as a flood then I would pay back the advance payment and have to cancel the booking(s), no liability would be accepted for the cost of different accommodation. Never happened so far.

Double Booking Liability. I am of course liable if I double book the apartment.
No double bookings so far and plan to keep it that way !.

When our group arrives at the apartment can we pay the rent and the damage deposit with 2 personal cheques ?

No. The rental payment at arrival and the damage deposit on arrival day need to be paid in cash.

Can a taxi stop at the entrance door of the building ?

Yes.

What is the best method to get to/from Budapest airport ?

A taxi is an easy way, approx. 5200 Forints fixed price to the zone (apartment is in Zone 2) , takes approx. 25 minutes. (1 company has the contract for a few years). If need a bigger taxi then 1000 Forints extra. www.zonataxi.eu/en/ Telephone. +(36 1) 365-5555

(taxi from the apartment "to" Budapest airport is approx. 4000 Forints, 16 Euros. Cheaper in return direction.)

Or use public transport to Kalvin Ter which is only 300 metres away (at Budapest airport take the 200E bus to the end of the blue metro line, KOBÁNYA-KISPEST station, and then change to the metro to go to Kalvin Ter. Buy your tickets at the one paper/magazine stand inside the airport. Approx 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes to the apartment by public transport) (640 Forints / person from Kalvin Ter to the airport, at the metro ticket office they sell you a combined ticket, metro + bus). Be sure to use a ticket since there are many inspections on the airport route. When going to the airport, note that the bus departs from the other side of the road from the metro station, in front of the entry to the shopping centre.

I will provide a map for the short walk to the apartment from Kalvin Ter.

Is a late departure possible ?

Yes. If the apartment is not booked for the coming night, or next arrivals are in the evening of that same day or an arrival the following morning, then you can probably depart from the apartment up until around 18:00/19:00 for free, or perhaps even later, please inform me when booking.

Is it possible to arrange other check in/out times ?

Yes. You can drop off your bags at the flat before the flat has been cleaned. In the past a group has arrived in the morning, done the keys etc, left their bags and then the flat has been cleaned. They are then free to return whenever suits them since they have the keys and have paid.

Is it possible to have 2 or 3 sets of keys ?

Yes, 2 or 3 sets, as you wish, is included.
